This shakuhachi flute was crafted by the renowned pipe maker Ro-shu II, active during the Showa and Heisei eras. Roshu was a renowned master craftsman celebrated for his precise internal tube design and creation of a calm, resonant tone; his signature is still highly valued today. This piece is characterized by its clear sound and a strong, straight core. It possesses a modern, refined resonance with minimal harshness, allowing the sound to cut cleanly through to the high register. Last year, cracks appeared in two places on the upper tube, so it underwent a winding repair.
